I have just returned from Newstead Live Music Festival, 12 hours or so south of here in the state of Victoria. The evening I arrived in Newstead the outside temperature was 47º Celsius with about 1% humidity, if that. About as hot and dry as anyplace in Mexico!
The venue for my debut festival concert was a church reserved for Saints only, but they let me in anyway.
The aspect of being at the festival that I most enjoyed (and profited from, I feel) was that I was unknown by virtually everyone there. So quite a number of first impressions of my work were reflected back to me. Objective feedback! A very valuable commodity for a performer, or for anyone.
So all in all - it was a worthwhile trip.
Regarding my upcoming visit to Europe: in the spirit of staying in communication, over the last couple of days I’ve put together a list of everything that’s been “confirmed” to date. And here it is: CLICK HERE
As you’ll note, the time after 22nd June is still fluid. I haven’t made my final return plans yet. This decision will depend totally on how many other possibilities fall into place.
And that’s it, Laura: up-to-the-minute, from me!
Kind regards
Michael
